Whispy

W0000t! Blegh! 9.12.2002

I made a marked improvement in calc, getting a 100% on the math quiz I took on Tuesday. I would have recieved a 98%, but she curved everyone up 2 points(which would actually have taken me up to 106%), and I ended up with a 100%. Somehow it makes me more paranoid than I was with the bad grade. Oh well

I finished reading Kafka's Amerika this morning (I was supposed to take two weeks to read it, but it was so compelling I finished it in 1.5 days and three reading sessions). I was so weirded out I decided to write an optimistic poem (since my life isn't nearly so bad), but something surprisingly different came out. I haven't finalized it, but here's a draft:

Whisping about in a wandering world,
Whirled by whims of nothing,
Something seeps beneath the soul,
Surrender to this garish ghoul;
Even vipers hiss at something.
Odd. Their pulse is cold.

I hope you dejoy it. It was rather much an experiment in assonance and unplanned rhythm. I'm still not quite sure what it means. Perhaps I'll analyze it as practice for my literature class. I wonder what it's about...
